First of
all, this is my first blog hop and my first post in English! So if there are
mistakes please accept my apologies. For German version see below – die
deutschsprachige Version kommt weiter unten.
It didn’t
take me long to decide to join the “Bowls with Borders” blog hop because I just
love Regina’s pattern with the bowls. And I am so happy to be part of this blog
hop.
Well, how to
arrange the bowls? My first choice was just 9 bowls in a square with 3 x 3 bowls
in colours I am fond of. But then this was Regina’s idea and not my own one;
you can find it on her homepage.
So I
thought about another version. The second idea was: five bowls in a row using
fabrics with fruits (which I am just now collecting for my jar quilt). I don’t
know why I discarded this idea – I might use it one day.
The third
version is the one I am now presenting. I stacked a pile of bowls starting with
the white one on top and sewing a rainbow colour trend (of yellow, orange, red,
pink, and purple down to anthracite) from light to dark. Now another problem turned
up: which colour for background and border that I didn’t use in the bowls?
The first
choice was black, but that would be too hard for my kitchen, which
will be the home for my quilt. I found a fabric with a colour trend from light
cream to dark brown, almost like wood with fine lines; I think this was a good choice.
Well, here
are my “Bowls with Borders”! Size approx. 9" x 26". And I’m looking forward to reading your comments.
Kommentare.
Liebe Grüße, Sonja

Sonya-Your English is excellent, better than some natives! At first while reading your dilemma about the background color, I was unsure, but you used a light brown and it really works!
